The Johnston Madrigal Feaste Tradition

Since 1970, the Johnston High School choir has presented the Madrigal Feaste at the beginning of each holiday season.

Madrigal takes audience members back to Merrie Olde England, circa 1475. The evening is a treat for the eyes, ears and stomach as guests enter a medieval castle to dine on a three-course meal, including “flaming” pudding served by period-costumed peasants. Guests will be entertained by the Royal Court (our vocal music seniors) with spirited drama, merriment, and dancing. The combined Johnston High School choirs will sing and play songs of the Renaissance during dinner.
